Bahamian Icon, K.B., Takes Center Stage at 4th Annual NPIWIFF

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – On day three of the Nassau Paradise Island Wine and Food Festival, guests not only indulged in a “Taste of Paradise,” but also sweet Bahamian music, which was headlined by Bahamian music legend, K.B.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – As always, the marquee event of the Nassau Paradise Island Wine and Food Festival, “Taste of Paradise”, turned out to be a down home celebration.

There were regional delicacies such as conch salad, lobster quesadillas, curried conch, and more, which created a culinary experience that delighted the palates of hundreds of attendees, and even dazzled some of the festival’s celebrity chefs.

“This is amazing, and it’s so wonderful to try different curry apart from Thailand.

Taking the theme over the top, the sounds and rhythms of Rake n Scrape.

Meanwhile, supported by the Pond Band, local artists Fanshawn and Blaudy took the stage at the festival.

Both artists describes the night as an invaluable experience for everyone in attendance.

“It means a lot to me man, I think we need to be doing more of these things you know, the guest mixing with the natives, we just having a good time and showing them our culture.”

“Shoutout to Atlantis entertainment for always making sure Bahamian artists get an opportunity to shine, especially in front of foreigners. It’s a great experience to be able to do it not only in the front of my own people.”

The irresistible melodies compelling us to dance, leaves both locals and guests in a sweat.

However, the celebrations were far from over.

After their performance, the Bahamian icon K.B. ignited the stage.

From 9:30 p.m. until just before midnight, he delivered an unforgettable performance, marking his second year headlining the event.

KB says what he exudes on stage is a representation of the global and local impact music has had on him.

“I can’t lie to you, I love Freddie Mercury from Queen, I love a lot of the Rod Stewart…Stevie Wonder is my favorite artist. But of course you got your Ronnie Butler, you got your Eddie Minnis, those guys who inspire me for the writing.”

“[For] my performance you have the Jay Mitchell, Tony McKay – they inspire me through the years, and you even got some of the younger guys I look and say hey I got to step up.”
