Hield, Ayton and Thompson All Put Up Big Numbers in Losses

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Wednesday night was bittersweet for Bahamian NBA players Buddy Hield, Klay Thompson and Deandre Ayton as all three managed to keep their teams in their respective games with all three coming short.

Buddy Hield and his Indiana Pacers narrowly lost to the Philadelphia 76ers 129-126. Hield led his team with 24 points on 9 of 14 shooting while grabbing 9 rebounds and dishing out 6 assists.

Regulation ended in a stalemate with both teams scoring 120 apiece before going into overtime where DeAnthony Melton of the Sixers hit a 3 to give Philly the final lead. Tyrese Halliburton of the Pacers scored 16 points and dished out 12 assists while Ben Mathurin had 19 points off the bench. James Harden had 26 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the Sixers who were without their best player Joel Embiid.

Klay Thompson’s Warriors also came up short despite a great individual effort from him. Fresh off a 54-point eruption against the Atlanta Hawks, Thompson scored 30 in a rare home loss to the upstart Detroit Pistons, 122-119.

Klay’s clutch shooting kept the Dubs in the game towards the end before Saddiq Bey hit a walk-off buzzer beating 3 at the end to give the game its final score.

Jordan Poole had 24 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists while Bojan Bogdanovic had 29 for the Pistons.

Deandre Ayton and the Phoenix Suns fell to the Cleveland Cavaliers last night 90-88.

Ayton did the dirty work inside, scoring 15 points on 7 of 12 shooting while pulling down a beastly 18 boards.

All three of these guys will get a much-needed rest tonight.
