NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Two young Bahamians recently got the opportunity of a lifetime to represent The Bahamas at one of the highest levels, at the United Nations 27th Youth Assembly. Kristina Dragovich speaks with the duo about what it means for youth in the country.

Beijing Rodgers and Kevano Bullard taking The Bahamas to the world at the United Nation’s Youth Assembly.

With the mission ‘Dare To Reshape The World’ the delegates were among hundreds from around the globe united in one mission.

Rodgers says the program made her hopeful about the impact young people can have on their home countries.

Bullard says young people are often left out of the decision-making process – even in areas where they are most impacted.

It’s that process Bullard says he hopes the ministry of youth will take advantage of, to integrate the ideas brought back by the youth delegates.

Bullard and Rodgers are both a part of the youth organization IOT – ‘It’s Our Turn’ – and say they are looking forward to engaging and empowering more young Bahamians in the leadership and decision-making process in the nation.
