Mets coach Antoan Richardson and his team also fell to a division foe, coming up short against the Washington Nationals, 5–4. Mark Vientos hit a triple in that one.

And down in the minors, Rangers top prospect Sebastian Walcott continues to show and prove. He went 2-for-4 with a couple of singles and a stolen base. His Frisco RoughRiders lost to the Corpus Christi Hooks, 6–4.

Basketball

Now over to the hardwood, where the Bahamas National Round Robin Tournament is in its second day. The best clubs from all across our beautiful islands are getting after it.

In Division II action, the Net Riders out of Abaco beat the Harbour Island Panthers, 69–58.

Juvens Loucious was the high man with 27 points for the Riders.

The Y-E-S Giants, playing in their hometown, mollywhopped the South Andros Defenders, 92–68. Kirk Farrington was the high man with 21 points.

And in Division I action, NPBA champs Commonwealth Bank Giants beat the Dudley Boyz Saints out of Grand Bahama, 73–62. Jackson Jacob was the leading scorer in that one with 20 points.
