Rhema Collins had a big night to help her Florida International University Panthers eke out a 67-65 win over Sam Houston State.
The 6’2″ junior forward from New Providence put in a monumental effort, scoring 24 points, and blocking 4 shots in 38 of a possible 40 minutes to power FIU to the win.
She also hit a clutch bucket down the stretch and got defensive stop to help secure the win.
Syracuse needed every single one of Donny Freeman’s 18 points and 4 blocks to pull out a 79-78 win over Southern Methodist University.
He also contributed 5 rebounds and 3 assists to the effort. Nate Kingz hit a tough go-ahead bucket with less than 3 seconds left to get the win for ‘Cuse and Kiyan Anthony, son of Syracuse legend Carmelo came off the bench for 13.
