NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Agricultural Marine Science Institute (BAMSI) says things are looking up for the institution this new year.

Based in North Andros, the tertiary education facility seeks to teach and empower Bahamians of all ages how to specialize in the fields of agriculture and marine sciences.

President of the institution, Dr. Raveenia Roberts-Hanna, says things are looking good as enrollment is up.

Right now, the school  is hybrid offering both online and in-person classes.

Something Dr. Robert-Hanna says has helped both the school and students.

And while many residents may shy away from the institution, here’s something that might change your mind.

“BAMSI is a part of the Bahamas government tertiary grants and so what that means is that there’s free tuition,” Dr. Roberts-Hanna said.

“I will say that again free tuition at BAMSI for those who are eligible and then of course there’s a minor fee for room and board but that too is subsidize so again. I must congratulate all the administration, severely supported this in making education affordable to the Bahamian people.”
