NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Atlantis’ Director of Special Events is Sherlander Rolle talking about the Battle 4 Atlantis scheduled for next month.

Now in its 12th year of men’s play and the third of its women’s tournament, Battle 4 Atlantis has become a full-fledged celebration of college basketball.

This year Bahamian Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin of the University of Mississippi Rebels Women’s Team will make her homecoming in this year’s women’s tournament, playing in front of her compatriots.

Klay Thompson and Golden State Warriors will open their season tonight against Eric Gordon’s Phoenix Suns.

Klay, a former NBA Champion bounced back from the devastating injuries he suffered in 2019 to average 21 points per game while shooting a white-hot 41% from beyond the arc.

He’s going up against Gordon, who showed that he could still get buckets this past summer on the Bahamas National Team.

Though he handles the ball less in the NBA than he did in international play, Gordon still managed to score 12 points per game last year while shooting a respectable 37% from the three-point line.

He’ll make his debut with a recently overhauled Phoenix Suns team that traded away another Bahamian, Deandre Ayton.
