NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Team Bahamas’ roster is a cross section of pro talent, experience and youth as they prepare to take on the region this week at the 7th Caribbean Baseball Cup.

The Bahamas Baseball Association announced team representatives Sunday afternoon at the Andre Rogers National Stadium.

The pitching staff will be led by Tahnaj Thomas, Chavez Fernander, and also Yreek Sherman who got the win over Panama at Pan Am Qualifiers.

Others include Chad Mckenzie, Deshaughn Forbes, Orxavier Saint, Mateo Ferguson, Shameko Smith, Gio Tomlins, and Cavian Roberts.

The infielders will be led by Daunte Stuart who makes his third Caribbean Cup appearance, along with Cherif Neymour, Da’alen Adderley, Jaiden Cartwright, and Ellison Hanna II.

The outfielders are highlighted by another three time Caribbean Cup and world baseball classic vet Chavez Young, and others including Toby Simmons, Kashon Conliffe, Byron Murray,

Behind the plate – Caden Walker, Ben Dupuch, and Trae Sweeting.

The tournament runs December 3-8.

Team Bahamas Set For Rematch Against Canada

Canada dominated the first matchup of the current FIBA World Cup Qualifiers window, and a shorthanded Team Bahamas looks to get back on track Monday night in Toronto.

The Bahamas will be without Kai Jones, when they take on Canada in Toronto.

He was replaced by Jackson Jacob on the roster.

Jamaica was the other group B winner on opening night in a stunner over Puerto Rico.

Following Monday night’s matchup The Bahamas returns to the court in the February window with games against Jamaica and Puerto Rico.

The top three teams in the group will advance.

Ayton, Edgecombe Return To The Court

Deandre Ayton and VJ Edgecombe both returned to the floor Sunday night, mixed results, but the point is they’re back.

On the road in New Orleans, Ayton had a double-double in a win over the New Orleans Pelicans – 22 points, 12 rebounds, and 4 blocks.

Meanwhile in Philadelphia, VJ Edgecombe made his return from a left-calf injury that had sidelined him for several games.

He played limited minutes as the Sixers eased him back into a double-overtime loss to the Atlanta Hawks 142-134.

Edgecombe finished with seven points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
