BBA Nationals Get Underway in Grand Bahama

GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Baseball has taken over the nation’s second city this weekend, as the Bahamas Baseball Association hosts the Andre Rodgers Junior National Championships.

Twenty five teams and hundreds of athletes will compete over the course of the next three days at the Emera Baseball Park in Grand Bahama.

The tournament will feature five teams in the 8u division, five in 10u, six in 14u, and nine in the 12u division.

Play got underway Thursday and will continue through to the medal rounds on Sunday.

Basketball

Buddy Hield’s offseason is pretty much about two things, getting better for next year, and giving back to the community.

Hield was in Exuma last week and hosted a one day basketball clinic for local students in George Town.

Softball

The Queens of Paradise series got underway Thursday night and if game one was any indication, we’re set for an exciting three days of competition.

In the matchup of women’s professional fastpitch teams –  the Orlando Monarchs took the first of three games over the Atlanta Smoke, 4-3 at the Andre Rodgers National Stadium.

Game two is set for tonight, and game three on Saturday.

The event is hosted by Don’t Blink Entertainment in conjunction with B4 Real Entertainment.
