GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The 52nd Bernie Butler Open Water Swim was held over the weekend at Coral Beach in Freeport, offering a qualifying opportunity for competitive swimmers.

The event featured four race divisions: the John Bradley 5k, a 1.35-mile race, the Bert Bell one-mile race, and a half-mile relay.

Board member and race coordinator Stacey McBride spoke with Our News.

Bahamas Aquatics Federation President Algernon Cargill spoke to the CARIFTA 2025 pre-qualification as well as the overall organization of the event.
