NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Bahamian boat captain accused of smuggling $4 million in cocaine into Florida last month is currently in plea negotiations with prosecutions.

Malcolm Goodman, a business partner of former FNM National Security Minister Marvin Dames, was arrested on February 11.

Goodman was captaining the 45-foot vessel Reel Xperience when he was stopped by the Coast Guard, who allegedly found 200 kilos of cocaine on board.

Goodman pleaded not guilty at arraignment and a trial date was scheduled for April 20.

Goodman’s lawyer Jay White asked for a postponement of the trial in light of the ongoing plea discussions.
