BPL Looks To Implement Rate Increase

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Power and Light is looking into a tariff study that will result in a change in rates for the power company. 

BPL CEO Shevonn Cambridge says the tariff study will provide BPL with the financial company to become a better utility company and to make investments necessary to drive down the cost to consumers. 

He says the power giant hasn’t had a rate increase since 2010.

Cambridge says the rate increase will impact customers’ base rate.

The full comprehensive study will take six to twelve months, but as the CEO explains the plan is to for consumers to see a decrease in their power bills.
