NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Export of Bahamian goods into Britain is up, according to British High Commissioner, Thomas Hartley.

In 2021, numbers out of our British High Commission said the existing pool of exports was small, totaling about 5 million British pounds sterling.

Hartley says those numbers have started to climb since last year.

He says that decline can be partially attributed to the British High Commission being closed for 20 years.

Now, he says they’ve been busy with helping Bahamian businesses prepare for export, and addressing some of the speed bumps that can get in the way for smaller businesses.
