NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Our News, and our very own Marlena Leonard, were honored with special awards from the British Legion Bahamas Branch Wednesday morning for her ongoing coverage of the non-profit organization during the remembrance season.

The British Legion Bahamas Branch cares for our surviving Bahamian World War II veterans, as well as their widows.

Their Chairman, Adina Munroe-Charlow tells us a recent story covered by Marlena went viral in the organization.

Chief Aliv Officer, John Gomez, says these stories are part of the community-focused direction of our news.

He says knowing the good that happens in our society can help shape the country.
