Candidates Officially Nominated in Pineridge and Central Grand Bahama

GRAND BAHAMA , BAHAMA – Over in Grand Bahama, nominations went off without a hitch.

Out of the five seats on the line, there are two in particular that voters will be keeping an eye on.

Candidates were officially nominated for five seats across Grand Bahama on Thursday.

Motorcades stretched along Coral Road and Pioneers Way, ending at the Christ the King Church.

Pineridge is one seat to watch.

It is a four-candidate race between the three major political parties, but most intriguing to many is Frederick McAlpine, who is once again running as an independent after holding the seat as an FNM candidate in 2017.

Progressive Liberal Party incumbent Ginger Moxey is confident that she will repeat in what is sometimes described as “FNM country.”

Central Grand Bahama is also a key seat to watch. Incumbent Iram Lewis previously carried the FNM’s banner before crossing the floor of the House of Assembly to the Coalition of Independents.

Even with this move, he remains confident.
