CARIBBEAN – The Barbados-based Caribbean Examination Council says it’s embracing artificial intelligence and is in the process of creating the environment for academic integrity and safeguarding against “intellectual laziness”.

CXC was established in 1972 and provides regional and internationally recognised secondary school leaving examinations.

CXC’s registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Wayne Wesley, said AI is something of interest to the region’s examination body.

Dr. Wesley recently telling a state-run radio station that the plan is to ensure the information being created by AI is verifiable and accurate.
