THE CARIBBEAN – A weather disturbance is being monitored in the region. Those with interests in the Lesser Antilles have been advised to monitor the progress of the system now in the Central Tropical Atlantic.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center says satellite images indicate a broad area of low pressure located about 1,100 miles east of the Windward Islands has become better defined since this morning.

It says associated showers and thunderstorms are also showing signs of organisation.

Environmental conditions are expected to remain conducive for gradual development, and a tropical depression will likely form during the next day or two while the system moves west.
