NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Friday was observed as Cinco De Mayo, a Mexican holiday that has been adopted by people around the world including right here in The Bahamas.

Cinco De Mayo is a holiday that celebrates the day of the Mexican Army’s May 5, 1862 victory over France. Since then the day has been celebrated across the world.

Here at home a number of restaurants and bars offer specials in honor of the Mexican holiday.

It’s no different at Bahamian Bistro as Co-owner, Jamal Stubbs says the response from the community is encouraging.
