NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Despite all that’s happening in the world, on Monday, we paused to recognize International Day of Happiness.

It was started by the United Nations in 2012.

Cheryl Walkine-Alexandre, who founded the local Marriage Children Family Alliance Movement, said gone are the days when a country’s success was marked only by economic prosperity.

Walkine-Alexandre says for many, the issue of happiness comes down to a misperception of what happiness really looks like.
