NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Central Bank Governor John Rolle says a decline in inflation won’t directly result in a drop in prices.

And here’s why.

Last month, the National Statistical Institute revealed overall inflation decreased by 0.5 percent when compared to November 2023.

In 2023, the Inter-American Development Bank explained inflation in The Bahamas is expected to decrease to about three percent this year compared to 4.1 percent rate in March 2023.

Rolle explained the impact this could have on salaries.

Despite this, Rolle maintains inflation is expected to continue to decline.
