NASSAU, BAHAMAS – There’s a culture change needed in The Bahamas when it comes to the way we think of quality regulations and metrology, according to Devin Griffith, CEO and Chief Brand Strategist of G&B Communications.

Put simply, metrology is the science of measurement.

Metrology is what makes sure the gallon you pay for at the pump is truly a gallon,

That the ingredients, their amounts, and nutritional value on your food labels are accurate,

And that the concrete you use to build your buildings is standard and up to par.

Griffith’s comments came outside of the 2023 Bahamas National Quality Policy Re-engagement Forum, held under the theme “Strengthening the national quality infrastructure” through enhanced standards and metrology services.

The chief brand strategist says the benefits of standardizing quality and promoting metrology are vast, and vital if Bahamian business owners hope to export products internationally.

He adds that as metrology opens the world of trade up for The Bahamas more, there will be more opportunities for development and employment as Bahamian companies develop their international reach.
