NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Bahamas Ambassador to China Paulette Bethel hailing China’s pursuit of ecotourism.

Her comments came as she toured Guizhou province with more than 20 ambassadors and diplomats from 19 other countries.

Bethel pointing to the pivotal role tourism plays in the Bahamian economy while also also insisting there is always room to expand what’s offered to visitors.

Guizhou was once a province with rocky desertification land in China.

It had suffered from ecological degradation and severe economic distress.

After years of efforts to better restore and preserve the local ecosystem, Guizhou has been designated as China’s ecological civilization pilot zone.

Bethel touted their success.
