NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Christian Council says it hasn’t been consulted on the recent Protection Against Violence Bill that was passed in parliament and now set to go before the senate.

President Delton Fernander says if this is how the government wants to deal with the church, then so be it.

There has been much pushback to the Protection Against Violence Bill as many say its far from the proposed Gender-Based Violence Bill.

In parliament, Social Services Minister Obie Wilchcombe said it’s important to ensure the bill does not discriminate against anyone.

However, Fernander says it’s better we all work together.
