NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Thousands of civil servants will see a bump in pay come December.
The Davis administration, completing a long-promised salary review exercise, with increases retroactive to September 1, 2025.
In June, Prime Minister Philip Brave Davis revealed that public servants, across all levels, will receive pay raises this year. This latest rollout marks the second phase.
The government has completed its salary review exercise for civil servants who were not included in previous adjustments.
The announcement came in a statement over the weekend. It’s the second rollout, after senior servants got their increase in June… so who’s left that will benefit this go round?
Well, Labor and Public Services Minister, Pia Glover Rolle, tells me that while it’s a ministry of finance project, those left will get what they deserve, despite delays.

“So that senior group of employees their payment was actually very late because they were to be paid effective september 2024 and they got their payment july.this group is going to be a little delayed, their payment will be effective september 2025 and they will get their payments according to the ministry of finance,, december of 2025.”
Government budgeting $807 million for wages and salaries in the 2025/2026 fiscal year, compared to $767.9 million in the 2024/2025 fiscal year.
But, what about nurses and teachers? there have been calls for salary increases for them as well.
The minister says while not included in this exercise, other avenues are available.
