THAILAND – Cleanup and recovery efforts are underway in Thailand following a deadly train derailment in the country’s northeast.

At least 32 people were killed and 66 others injured when a construction crane collapsed onto a passenger train in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Authorities say the train was traveling from Bangkok when the crane—part of a high-speed rail construction project—fell onto two carriages, causing the train to derail and briefly catch fire.

Nearly 200 passengers were on board at the time of the crash. An investigation is now underway to determine the cause of the crane collapse.
