Ole Miss Bounces Back on Senior Night

OXFORD, MS, USA – Ole Miss may have lost to the top team in the country on Sunday but they brushed themselves on and went to work to beat the University of Missouri Tigers 72-64 during their senior night on Thursday.

The Rebels typically get it done with stingy defense and glass-pounding, but they didn’t do either to their usual standard on Thursday night, allowing the Tigers to shoot a robust 44 percent from the field and outrebounding them by only 2, grabbing 26 to Mizzou’s 24.

They simply outscored their opponent, getting out to an 8-point lead at the end of the first half and never letting up.

The Rebels shot 39 percent from beyond the arc, making 9 of their 23 attempts. Angel Baker led the charge with 19 points and 6 assists. Myah Taylor added 17 points and 5 assists.

Madison Scott scored 12 points and 10 rebounds for the 20th double-double of her Ole Miss career.

Lauren Hansen led Mizzou with 26 points.

Coach Yo and her rebels conclude their regular season on Sunday against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Tuscaloosa. Then they wait to see if they can get into the NCAA Tournament.
