Coach Yo, VJ Pick Up Wins In March Madness Tournament

UNITED STATES – Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and her 5-seeded University of Mississippi Rebels got a big win in the first round, blowing out Ball State 83-65.

UNITED STATES – Coach Yolett McPhee-McCuin and her 5-seeded University of Mississippi Rebels got a big win in the first round, blowing out Ball State 83-65.

Starr Jacobs played big with 18 points and 11 rebounds. And Kennedy Todd-Williams and Madison Scott added 15 apiece. KTW also had 11 rebounds.

They have number 4 Baylor in the next round.

Coach Yo was thankful for the win.

Speaking of Baylor, super freshman VJ Edgecombe, and the Bears got a win on the men’s side in what’s more than likely going to be his only NCAA tournament, beating Mississippi State 75-72.

The Big 12 Freshman of the Year started the game off tentatively, with 4 points in the first half.

He stepped up in the second half, finishing with 14 points, including two clutch free throws to score Baylor’s final two points.

They play 1 seed Duke in the next round.

Flag Football

The Bahamas Flag Football League will begin its second week tomorrow afternoon.

On the men’s side The Renegades will go against team Red Dot, The Lions will play The Predators and The Hornets will play The Avengers.

And the women will hit the field as well with The Avengers playing The Stingrays and The Hornets playing The Aces.

The action starts at 1pm at the field in front of the Thomas A Robinson Stadium.
