COFCOR Expresses Profound Concern Regarding Measures Imposed Upon Cuba

SURINAME -The Caribbean Community Council for Foreign and Community Relations, COFCOR, has expressed profound concern regarding the ongoing and intensifying economic, commercial, and financial measures imposed on the Republic of Cuba.

The body noted that the mounting hardships facing the Cuban people are also seriously affecting CARICOM nationals studying and living in Cuba.

COFCOR also reaffirmed the need to preserve the Caribbean as a zone of peace and expressed alarm over recent statements suggesting the possibility of military aggression against Cuba. The council added that any such action would inflict unnecessary human suffering, impose grave material costs, and fundamentally destabilize the security architecture of the entire Caribbean region.
