COI Taking “Change Is Here” Message To Golden Isles, Hours Before Vote

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The sounds of horns, and the chants from dozens of supporters sounding the alarm to residents in the Golden Isles community that the Coalition of Independents was on the move.

Candidate, Brian Rolle says endorsement from party members and residents have been encouraging.

“To see the people really leaning towards me and giving me their support was just totally overwhelming, and I’m very very appreciative, and it’s obvious that the people see the movement that the Coalition of Independents is making”

Party leader, Lincoln Bain, is confident that Rolle will be victorious, expressing that he’s not surprised by the turnout.

“We think that the people want change in the country and that’s why so many Bahamians come forward, it was a massive motorcade as you’ve witnessed.”

The blackout motorcade, originally scheduled to begin at Gladstone Road, ending on Coral Harbor Park had to be diverted.

However, Bain says he believes victimization was the cause of their pivot to an open lot on Carmichael Road.

“Not only did they not let us use Coral Harbor Park, they didn’t let us use any park, they told us that we couldn’t use any park in the Golden Isles constituency, and I think that was shameful for them to do that, this is a democratic process, and even if you know elections are coming up, you need to have fair play”
