NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 29-year-old police constable finding himself on the wrong side of the law after being accused of rape and assault.

Prosecutors say Earin Cash raped and assaulted a 27-year-old woman in Marsh Harbour, Abaco.

The incident allegedly happened on March 22, 2023.

Cash didn’t have to enter pleas to the charges when he appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr.

He was denied bail as the magistrate lacks jurisdiction to consider bail for rape.

However, hours later a Supreme Court judge set bail at $9,500 with two sureties.

Cash returns to court on March 5 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Cash is represented by Ian Cargill.
