Consumer Protection Promises Crackdown on Courier Companies

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Consumer Protection Commission is keeping an eye on courier companies after a rise in consumer complaints this year.

Newly appointed Executive Chairman Randy Rolle telling us complaints against the construction industries and utility companies have also increased. The plan is to look into the complaints.

Rolle emphasized that the commission is not trying to put these companies out of business but to build relationships with all businesses and consumers.

Some of the complaints he says range from lost packages without refunds to high prices for shipped goods.

So far for the year, Rolle says the commission has already processed over 300 complaints, a rise from last year.

Still, Rolle says some consumers are hesitant to file complaints for fear of retaliation.

While most of them saw a successful resolve, some of them had to be referred to other agencies.

He’s encouraging consumers to come forward and file complaints and offered this bit of advice.
