NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A convicted killer is awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to manslaughter.

Tameko Dorsette initially faced a murder charge in relation to the January 5 beating death of Darell Ferguson.

However, he pleaded guilty to the reduced charge of manslaughter when he appeared before Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson.

According to the prosecutor, Eucal Bonaby, Ferguson was beaten to death during a fight that he started.

On the day in question, he confronted Dorsette at a park on Miller’s Heights and accused him of stealing his car’s battery.

Ferguson, who was armed with a two-by-four piece of plywood, struck Dorsette, who disarmed him and beat him to death, the court heard. Dorsette will learn his fate next month.
