NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A police officer and his cousin have denied involvement in a murder conspiracy.

Corporal Darren Davis, 47, who is on bail, and Stephon Davis, 27, who is on remand, are accused of plotting to murder Jayson Whitfield, a senior clerk at the Passport Office on December 2, 2022.

The  43-year-old was found shot to death in his government-assigned car in Garden Hills on December 3.

Investigators, however, have not charged anyone with Whitfield’s murder.

The Davises pleaded not guilty to the allegations at their arraignment before Senior Justice Bernard Turner.

Their trial has been assigned to Justice Renae McKay, who will fix a trial date on July 6.
