NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Police Commissioner Clayton Fernander is once again calling for longer sentences for gun crimes.

The Commissioner pointing out guns are used in many serious crimes in the country. He also points out many have been taken off the streets so far this year, these seizures leading to many arrests.

Despite these cases being placed promptly before the courts, the commissioner insists that these seizures and arrests are pointless if tougher sentences are not carried out.

With so many guns flooding the nation, authorities say they are working hard to prevent them from entering our borders.
