NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A corrections officer and four men have been committed to stand trial in the Supreme Court on murder conspiracy charges.

Prosecutors allege that Shante Taylor planned the murder of Elvardo Thompson Jr along with Jamaal Hamilton, Shanton McSweeney, Dondre Ramsey and Vernal Brown.

Thompson was killed in an ambush soon after he pulled up at Ms Taylor’s home on Pinecrest Drive on July 2024.

Prosecutors allege that Hamilton, McSweeney, Ramsey and Brown carried out the murder.
The accused will be arraigned before Justice Guillimina Archer-Minns in May.
