NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It was business as usual outside the Magistrates Court on Wednesday. Department of Corrections vehicles bringing incarcerated individuals to court and civilians strolling in and out dealing with their personal cases; the surroundings rather quiet for a day where a former cabinet minister was brought before the courts.

Former Minister of Youth, Sports, and Culture Lanisha Rolle was arraigned on bribery and fraud-related charges.

Former Free National Movement Member of Parliament for Tall Pines Don Saunders, describing the process as political payback.

Saunders also responding to critics who say the FNM should not use the cry of political mischief when they were in support of Progressive Liberal Party MPs being brought before the courts during the Minnis administration’s reign.

He says they are simply fishing, adding he believes some of the defendants should not have been charged.
