NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A former American beauty queen and her Bahamian boyfriend accused of plotting to kill her husband will remain behind bars after the Court of Appeal upheld a judge’s decision to revoke their bail.

Lindsay Shiver and Terrance Bethel were sent back to prison on October 28 after Senior Justice Cheryl Grant-Thompson found that they had breached the terms of their bail.

They were both freed on bail within weeks of their arrest in July 2023 on allegations that they planned to murder Shiver’s estranged husband Robert Shiver.

Prosecutors applied to have the couple sent to prison after Shiver failed to remain at her court approved residence in Alabama, and Bethel failed to sign in at the police station on multiple occasions.

The couple also made an appearance on Good Morning America and discussed their case, potentially prejudicing the jury pool.

Shiver and Bethel are expected to be tried alongside Faron Newbold Jr. in March 2025.
