NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The United States Food and Drug Administration has given Pfizer the green light to begin immunizing children between five and eleven-years-old against COVID-19.

But what does that mean for children in the Bahamas?

Here’s Kristina Dragovich.



Pediatrician Dr. Deshawn Saunders says young children are still at risk for developing severe COVID-19, and for some, the effects can be lasting.

As with many developments concerning COVID-19 and the vaccine, Dr. Saunders says there is a lot of misinformation on social media but pediatricians can help to answer questions and concerns.

With schools reopening for hybrid learning in a matter of weeks, vaccinations are expected to help reduce the risk of severe illness.
