This cold and flu season may be a little different as thousands of students are set to return to school in a hybrid environment.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Mask-wearing and other public health measures have kept levels of the flu and common cold relatively low compared to pre-pandemic seasons, however with thousands of students set to return to school in a hybrid environment, this cold and flu season may be a little different.



So what should parents look out for? Pediatrician dr. Dashawn Saunders says there are some symptoms that overlap.

With COVID, the symptoms and duration of symptoms will be a little different.

Then there’s multisystem inflammatory syndrome (MISC), which affects children after COVID exposure.

But one step pediatricians say can help keep kids and adults a little safer this flu season is to get the flu shot, available at public clinics and doctors’ offices.
