NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid the threat of another COVID-19 variant, Consultant Physician Staff Association President Dr. Sabriquet Pinder-Butler is predicting that another spike in COVID-19 numbers is inevitable.

The news comes amid the emergence of another COVID variant that’s surging in other parts of the world.

In late December, the United States Centers for Disease Control revealed the XBB 1.5 variant accounted for 40 percent of cases in the U.S.

The CPSA president suggests Bahamians take the initiative to keep themselves safe.
