CUBA – Cuba has confirmed the deaths of 32 of its military, and interior ministry personnel killed during the U.S. raid in Venezuela.

Cuban state television reports the dead include 21 members of the interior ministry, and 11 from the Revolutionary Armed Forces, ranging in age from 26 to 67.

According to Havana, the personnel were serving in Venezuela at the request of Venezuela’s security agencies.

Cuba has maintained close military and security ties with Venezuela for decades, providing support to the government in Caracas.
