NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Cynthia “Mother” Pratt will serve as the next Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

The news confirmed in an official statement released by the Office of the Prime Minister Tuesday.

Prime Minister Philip Davis noting it is with great pleasure that he recommended “Mother” Pratt for the appointment.

It was on August 11 when Davis requested that his majesty, King Charles, appoint Pratt as Governor-General.

The appointment takes effect on September 1st.

Recently there’s been much speculation about who would become the next governor-general.

Pratt was even questioned about the possible appointment when she appeared on the record with Jerome Sawyer.
