Adderley Leaves TSU After an All-American Season

Texas Southern outfielder Daalen Adderley announced in a tweet on Monday that he will enter the transfer portal, ending his historic lone year at TSU. He has one year of eligibility left.

He is coming off a historic season that saw him land on the National College Baseball Writers of America as a third-team All-American, he also was named SWAC player of the year, SWAC hitter of the year, and player of the year, all-conference and all-region and a host of other awards

Adderley was one of the best hitters in college baseball, ranking 5th in the country in batting average.

Jumping to a major Division-I program will give Adderley a chance to compete in front of more scouts against high-level competition, providing an opportunity for him to get drafted higher in the 2024 draft than he would have been this year… if he even gets drafted at all.

During an interview with OurNews earlier this month Adderley expressed that he seemed to raise his game against the tougher opponents that TSU faced and the stats bear that out, which him going 3-8 in a series against Missouri and 3-6 with a home run in a two-game set against Kansas. He also went 2-4 against Houston.
Daalen Adderley dominated HBCU baseball this past season, putting up historic numbers while showing he belongs with the best.

In his senior season, he has a chance to prove it.
