UNITED STATES – Deandre Ayton was traded to the Pacific Northwest on Wednesday in a huge deal involving eight players and three draft picks according to NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski.

Damian Lillard, the centerpiece of the deal was sent to the Milwaukee Bucks to be paired with Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The trade uproots Ayton from Arizona where he played his last two years of high school, his single year of college, and his five-year NBA career.

He has been highly productive during his time in the NBA making deep playoff runs including a finals run in 2021. However he found himself in feuds with management, his teammate Chris Paul and his former coach, Monty Williams.

Ayton was also criticized for underperforming in the past two playoffs.

At 24 with a ton of playoff games under his belt, he finds himself in a position to lead a young Portland team with very little playoff experience.

Renovations at National Sports Complex

As The Bahamas gets set to host CARIFTA Swimming in April next year closely followed by the World Relays in May, renovations are underway at the swim complex and the national stadium.

Sports Minister Mario Bowleg says everything will be ready and spoke specifically about the pool.

When asked about the total cost for repairs for the stadium and pool, the sports minister answered this way.
