NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A 23-year-old immigration officer and his mother were granted bail after denying gun charges.

Police arrested Calvin Glinton on January 6 after they allegedly found a Glock 19 9mm pistol with 17 rounds of ammunition in a car he was driving.

The car belonged to his mother, Antoinette Mackey, so she was arrested and charged as well.

The pair pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition at their arraignment before Acting Magistrate Lennox Coleby.

He set bail at $7,500 each.

They will learn their trial date on January 17.
