NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The decoration of a new Bahamasair plane sparked complaints from artists who submitted designs for a competition. Our Joshua Williams spoke with one of them and has his story.

Joey Butler is an experienced graphic artist. He was one of several creatives who submitted work for Bahamasair’s plane design competition to mark the country’s 50th Independence.

Participants said the airline did not communicate with them properly before it ultimately chose the official logo chosen by the National Independence Secretariat.

Butler says he along with other creatives were disappointed.

Although his design was not chosen, Butler remains confident.

Our newsroom reached out to the Managing Director of Bahamasair Tracey Cooper, but got no response up to air time.
