Devynne Gets New World Record In 60 Meter Hurdles

GLASGOW- Devynne Charlton had a triumphant finish, taking home the gold in the 60 meter hurdles and setting a new world record in the process with a time of 7.65 seconds.

GLASGOW – Devynne Charlton had a triumphant finish, taking home the gold in the 60 meter hurdles and setting a new world record in the process with a time of 7.65 seconds.

Charisma Taylor came 6th in the same race finishing in a time of 7.92 seconds. She also finished the triple jump in 6th place.

Ken Mullings was in the lead for awhile but he finished the heptathlon in 4th place with a score of 6242 points, a new national record and a personal best for him.

Donald Thomas, also competed today despite the recent loss of his brother, he jumped 2.37 meters in the high jump to some 6th place.

UB Mingoes Compete In Florida

UB competed in the St. Thomas University Elite Invitational last weekend.

The team had a couple of notable finishes.

The 4 by 4 hundred metre relay squad of Dennis Williamson, Donya Roberts, Lhevinne Joseph and Trent Strachan came in second in a time of 3:21.14.

Joseph also came third in the 800m.

Brianique Strachan also came through with some hardware, picking up silver medals in the 100 and 200-meter events.
