NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The discussion on Corporal Punishment continues as Minister of State Zane Lightbourne is also commenting on the issue.

Recently education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin and Bahamas Union of Teachers President Belinda Wilson acknowledged the fact that alternatives need to be explored when administering punishment in schools.

Lightbourne says he is in agreement as the world is advancing.

The Minister of State says there are some institutions that have already abolished the practice.

He says while this is good for some, it may not be best for all.
