Doctor Convicted Of Rape
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A doctor has been convicted of raping a woman more than a decade ago following a week-long trial.
NASSAU, BAHAMAS – 52-year-old Dr. Gerald Forbes has been convicted of raping a 20-year-old woman in the bathroom of an office on March 9, 2010, following a week-long trial.
The victim, now 32, testified that she worked in the same building where Forbes’ Clinic, Carmichael Medical, was located. She said that Forbes asked her to answer his phone when he was away.
She testified Forbes came upstairs with the cordless phone and when she opened the door, he manhandled her and raped her in the bathroom.
For his part, forbes never denied that sex took place–but he claimed it was consensual.
Forbes has been remanded to prison pending sentencing on November 11th.
