NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The moment Don Saunders was officially announced as the head boy of St. John’s College for the new academic year was sent to Our News on Monday, September 17th, 2024 from well wishers and supporters.

You may recall Don’s father – Donald Saunders, former deputy house speaker and deputy chairman for the Free National Movement – was killed back in March.

From then to now, Don Jr. has seen much success.

An avid swimmer, this year Don competed in the CARIFTA Games, Bahamas Swimming Nationals and was named one of the captains for this year’s Goodwill Games.

Don Jr. also shared with me how he’s overcome so much since his father passed.

He also shared with me some of his plans in his new role.

I also had the opportunity to speak with the school’s new principal Quinn McCartney who shared a little about the selection process.

Now, Zian Rolle was selected as the school’s head girl. We’ll share her story later this week.
